Programme Administrative and Finance Assistant Based in Rabat, Morocco Full-time, fixed term contract for 8 months Competitive salary
The Westminster Foundation for Democracy (WFD) is an independent political foundation sponsored by the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office. The Foundation works to support the development of parliaments, political party structures and civil society organisations. It is uniquely placed to draw directly on the expertise of Westminster political parties in all its work.
WFD is looking for an experienced Programme Administrative and Finance Assistant (PAFA) to assist the Programme Manager in Morocco to implement the Parliamentary Strengthening Programme that WFD is delivering as lead partner of The Westminster Consortium.
This role is responsible for the accurate, efficient and timely management of financial and administrative procedures and for ensuring excellent communication on, and co-ordination of, these requirements with stakeholders. The PAFA also assists the Programme Manager to coordinate logistics and provides general administrative support and office management as needed.
- The successful candidate will have :
Qualifications or be studying for qualifications, in book-keeping or an accountancy related field. Programme management, business studies, international development or similar will also be considered.
Experience in financial administration including management of cash flows, procurement, reconciling, monitoring and reporting on expenditure
A first degree or similar in a relevant discipline
At least one year’s experience in a similar role
Sound experience of using accounting packages as well as Excel, Word, Outlook, database
Excellent organisational and communication skills
The successful candidate will be flexible and prepared to contribute to the wider development of the work of WFD. The appointment will be made on merit on the basis of fair and open competition.
It is intended that, as part of the familiarisation with WFD, the successful appointee will spend a week in London at the beginning of the appointment. After induction in London the successful appointee will be expected to work in WFD office in Rabat, with occasional visits to Parliament for logistics and administrative support.
