FHI 360 and partners, International Research and Exchange Board (IREX), Education for Employment (EFE) and Golden Resources (GR), are implementing the USAID Career Center in Morocco. The activity is being implemented in close coordination with the Government of Morocco (GOM) counterpart the Ministry of National Education, Vocational Training, Higher Education and Scientific Research. USAID Career Center will play a central role in advancing USAID/Morocco and the GOM’s broader goal of increasing the employability of young Moroccans. The project is establishing career development centers linked to universities and the vocational training system, and incorporate work readiness training into the Moroccan tertiary education system, vocational training system, and workplaces where these skills will contribute to the employability and performance of youth in the workplace.
In line with the USAID Career Center entrepreneurship strategy, USAID Career Center plans to hire a local consultant to accomplish two main tasks: first, to map the organizations supporting entrepreneurs nationally (specifically in the Casablanca, Marrakech and Tangier regions), and second, develop and deliver a training course for Career Counselors to allow them to support youth pursuing entrepreneurship as a career pathway. The mapping of organizations supporting entrepreneurship will provide a detailed understanding of the organizations that exist in Morocco, including their offerings and their quality. This will promote partnerships between Career Centers and the local community actors and enable the Career Centers to better direct students to the support that best fits their needs. The consultant will then work with the DC and Rabat USAID Career Center offices to develop content for the course “What if I become an entrepreneur?” which will guide youth to entrepreneurship resources and help them identify strategies to pursue entrepreneurship. The consultant will deliver a two-day Training of Trainers (ToT) to Career Center staff in Casablanca, Marrakech and Tangier to prepare Career Counselors to deliver the course to youth.
